Train Rides
About
Our trains are hauled by electric or real steam locomotives. The engines are capable of hauling adult passengers as well as children on coaches that are designed so that you sit astride the track. This saves the strain on the driver's back.
The railway track is approximately 350m in an oval shape. One journey is usually twice round giving a ride of nearly 1/2 mile. There is a viewing area where you can watch the locomotives being prepared and a seating area between the station and the club house. Refreshments are available to purchase in the club house and there are toilets on site. Visitors to the railway track are welcome to cross the line by the footbridge to watch the trains go around the track. Sometimes we will have a traction engine here giving rides as well.

You will find our railway track at the Marley Activity Centre in Keighley. Enter through the gates from the roundabout on the A650, turn immediate right and follow the unmade roadway round the lower playing field. We have free parking situated behind the club house. For more details click here.

Things to be aware of
Whilst travelling on the trains, passengers must keep their hands and feet within the confines of carriages, must not lean over and must keep their feet on the running boards of the sit-astride coaches. All passengers must remain seated until the train becomes stationary at a designated stopping place. Passengers must sit on the carriage seats, not on laps , nor held in arms or carried in a sling.
The locomotives may eject some hot gritty ash particles, spit out spots of oil and soot as well as small sparks from the hot coals. KDMES cannot be held responsible for any staining of clothes or any other damage caused.
Children running alongside the trains are a source of danger to themselves and the railway. We request that you don't allow this as children may not see lineside equipment and fall.
